The Black Poplar Tree
A deciduous tree, reaching 60- 80 feet (20 - 30 m) in height. It belongs to the Salicaceae family and is related to White Willow and is a pioneer species, characterized by rapid growth, able to quickly colonize open areas.
Widely distributed across Europe, North Africa, and West Asia the buds have been used in Europe as early as the 1600s in a healing ointment against inflammations.
