Lemon, Citrus limonum cortex
1.7 fl oz (50 ml) - Tree Bark Extract
Lemon, Citrus limonum cortex
Lemon is a tonic for circulation, improving blood fluidity, but acting only in combination with other extracts. It quickly increases blood flow. Indirectly, it positively affects digestion, the respiratory system, and liver due to the improved circulation.
Why Lauren loves Gemmo
I love the bright and light essence of this extract and it’s ability to team up so well with others.
Lemon Tree
Native to India and the Far East, the lemon tree has been cultivated in Europe for over 2000 years, first by the Romans. It is a small thorny evergreen tree that can reach 30 to 36 feet (10 to 12 meters) in height. It grows well in ungreedy, dry and stony soils, but prefers calcareous soils. It is a very aromatic plant, its leaves, flowers and also the bark of its fruits provide different essential oils. In 1747, the Scottish physician James Lind discovered it as a prevention for scurvy. Later it was discovered that this action is linked to the fruit’s high vitamin C content.
Unlike all other extracts, Lemon Gemmotherapy Extract is prepared from the bark of young stems.
