Why Lauren loves Lingonberry Gemmo
For years it was what Lingonberry could do for the urinary system in both men and women that won my support but today we know so much more! Lingonberry is a must have extract for every household due to its profound protection against a multitude of pathogens prevalent today.
Lingonberry Shrub
In the same family as cranberry and blueberries, it is widely distributed across cold climates of Northern hemisphere. The natural habitat includes densely wooded areas, heath, grass moorland, raised bogs, rocky exposed cliffs, and mountain peaks. They prefer to grow in moist acidic soil in shade or partial shade.
The plants tend to be short (7 inches or less) and have single blooms. The leaves are bright green, oval and alternate, semi-evergreen and leathery. The berry of this plant has been widely used for centuries in folk medicine. In Sweden the berries were preserved and used as a home remedy against scurvy. In Russian folk medicine, lingonberry water was used as a mild laxative.
